One of the best doom albums I've heard in a really long time. I like that their sound is more anchored in 70s hard rock, as opposed to, say, NWOBHM or gothic or stoner doom. It's also a very punchy album - both the guitar and bass sound really muscular. The bassist gets to really stretch out on this album.
As a completely random aside, I don't think I've seen it mentioned before, but both TTD and Eye the Tide start the same way the previous album ends, further advancing their trilogy motif. Smekermann
Green Lung conjurers a cloud of occult psychedelic-metal, breath deep and enjoy the ride. This album screams stoner metal, from the fuzzed-out guitar tones, wailing organ tones and Ozzy'esque vocals – I'm getting a contact high.
Highly reminiscent of Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats
