Female fronted doom metal from Spain with all the ingredients to succeed: long songs, devoloped on hypnotic and heavy riffs, groove basses, melodic passages, ethereal vocals with references to witchcraft and the occult. What else do you want?
Favorite track: Flesh Ceremony.
Frayle is my favorite band right now. I honestly didn't think I would enjoy anything more than White Witch- damn, I was so wrong. 1692 is a delight from start to finish. Breathy female vocals are accompanied by the perfect tempo of doom and sludge, making it a sensual experience. I listen to this album just about every day- I wouldn't change a thing. aford520
Their most atmospheric and cinematic album to date, Messa first album also includes some epic doom and rock songs. Messa sound and style will be perfected in their sophomore album which feels even more natural and organic, but there are already some mature songwriting skills in display on that first album. The last acoustic ballad beautifully ends it all. A powerful and passionate singer too. David Yvinec
